OpenOffice Writer



Writer is the word processing part of the OpenOffice suite, the leading open-source sotware package. OpenOffice 3, the 3 stands for the 3rd release, is free and may be installed on as many computers as you like, you may make copies of it and give it to others.

As you can see from the screen shot below the tool bar is easy to understand with an appropiate mixture of context menu choices in the File, Edit, View... but also your typical Open, Save, and Print Shortcuts.

As you can see the software provides for the option of Exporting directly to PDF format as well.


As you can see here OpenOffice Writer povides for saving your file in many file formats. Mail Merge functionality is also built in, helping to make it a powerful and vialble office software offering.
